Pastor Martinez taught us that 'God pays well.'
he lives his life serving God in every way he feels called to - knowing that God will provide. when it feels like there is not enough money or resources, God has always come through. in ways never expected or imagined or thought possible. earlier in his life, he was cured of a disease through the power of prayer. his church now has a home with a roof. maybe no walls, but a roof! and that is better than nothing. through prayer and God's grace, his son will be attending Eastern University (my alma mater!) in a few short days as a freshman. he was able to get a scholarship and private funds, and a visa - to begin college in the US. how exciting!
he was one of my favorite people i met. i loved listening to him tell stories of God at work. his son, Marito, translated for us and we laughed and cried along with his stories. i could have listened to them all day. he was one of the most generous people. thank you, Pastor Martinez - for loving us and caring for us like family. you are one heck of a guy - dad, pastor, friend, mentor, husband.
