Onward.

while stopping into Starbucks on my lunch hour a few weeks ago as i often do, i noticed a new book for sale about the company. our own president of my firm, Tim, had always been passionate about how Starbucks runs it's company. loyal to their core values and mission. never straying from their roots. i picked up the book and knew i couldn't NOT buy it for tim as a small gift. i wrote a small note inside and thanked him for always staying loyal to our mission of helping people in need, even through tough times. next thing i knew, the following Monday morning, i was called into a meeting with two other co-workers in his office... and now it is our "assignment" to read the Starbucks book as we re-focus our own firm on quality, core values, and the foundation of Proverbs 31. my small gift and nice gesture turned into my own homework - but i'm grateful for such homework with rewards larger and greater than just 'marketing for an A/E firm'...
