just got word from my dad that Grandad is awake and alert, asking to go fishing. haha :) he is taking my nanny over in an hour to see him. initial critical stage yesterday was coming off the heart and lung machine to sustain himself again. doctor's said he came off it "like a champ". he is progressing better than expected and the bleeding has stopped completely, the blood clotting is working. there was some slight concern with internal bleeding from the thinning of the blood for surgery. but once they added platelettes and such, it began to clot and stop on it's own. he may be moved out of ICU as early as later today. PRAISE GOD. so incredibly thankful for these true miracles this week. i'm hoping to see him tomorrow or Friday. we continue to pray for his complete recovery.
